🆕 Sunday, June 7, 2026: Prep Session

  • 10:00 AM: Volunteers will meet at KL7IWC’s home or at the club’s storage locker to transport Field Day equipment to the garage for organizing and testing.

🛠️ Friday, June 26: Setup Day

  • 2:00 PM | Radio Prep & Transport
    • Field Day radios and equipment will be tested and prepared for transport from KL7IWC’s garage to the main site.
    • Food purchasing and logistics will be handled concurrently as individual schedules permit.
  • 3:00 PM | Site Setup (Fire Training Center)
    • Location: Across from the DMV Office (Designated Public Place for Bonus Points).
    • Erect three 10′×15′ Canopy frames.
    • Connect and test antennas with Field Day radios inside the Fire Training Center.
    • Clean the classroom, set up the radio station, and install/test rotator control on generator power.
    • Review guest logs and confirm the operator schedule.
    • 🎒 What to bring: Work clothes, gloves, bug spray, sun lotion, and water. Expect to help out for about 3 hours.

đź“» Saturday, June 27: Main Event & Picnic

  • 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM | Final Adjustments
    • Set up the Welcome/Information Booth and event banners.
    • Test radios and review logging procedures.
    • Attach shelter covers if rain (or intense sun) threatens.
    • Set out gear for the Swap Meet (sale/give-away) and prepare the picnic area.
    • 📢 Bring your excess gear to swap!
  • 10:00 AM | Field Day Operations Begin
    • Official operations kick off and run continuously for 24 hours until 10:00 AM Sunday. (See operator schedule for your slot).
  • 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Picnic Setup
    • Set up the grill, tables, and chairs. Members are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs or small tables if possible.
  • 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM | Pot-Luck Picnic & Raffle
    • Hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided by the club.
    • Potluck: Please bring a side item (salads, chili, beans, or desserts) scaled for about 10 people.
    • 50/50 Drawing: The winning ticket for the 50/50 pot will be drawn during the picnic.
  • 3:00 PM | VE Testing Session
    • Testing begins for present candidates.
    • ⚠️ Reminder: Examinees must have an FCC-issued Registration Number (FRN) prior to testing.
  • 3:00 PM | Picnic Cleanup
    • General cleanup of the picnic area.
  • Evening Operations
    • Shelters will be taken down early if the weather is dry.
    • 10:00 PM: Refuel the generator gas tanks.

🎓 Educational Event & Bonus Points (Time TBD)

  • Satellite Contacts: Presentation by Ben Ruel (KL0FL) on How to Make a Satellite Contact.
  • Bonus Points: Message preparation activities will be conducted by attendees to secure extra club points.

🌙 Sunday, June 28: Tear-Down & Pack-Out

🔋 Note: The station will be operated overnight leading into Sunday morning.
  • 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM | Operations & Early Takedown
    • Field Day operations continue. Clean-up officially begins: dismantle canopy shelters and stow away club banners.
  • 10:00 AM | Field Day Concludes
    • Official operations end. Dismantle all remaining antennas and radio stations.
  • 11:00 AM | Final Site Clean-up
    • Secure the club’s portable tower back in the storage area.
    • Dry out any damp gear if necessary, pack up, and return all equipment to the storage locker.
